It has been a gruelling season for the Toon Army having to battle their way out of the Championship but they have made it back to the Premier League, where they belong, and with a little bit of style. They have the tightest defense in all the leagues conceding on average 0.76 goals per game (cf ManU 0.82) and scored a respectable 71 goals so far - not bad considering the same team's defensive performance last year and a lot of players left at the end of the season.
Celebrations went on long into the night in the Gibson household... well half a bottle of wine and in bed by 11pm! Saving myself for Wednesday round at Lou's.
At last I will no longer need to endure the mockery of football supporters around the country and on Wednesday nights... OK maybe that's one step too far.
Onwards and upwards!

ReplyDeleteYeah I agree I can't wait for the mockery to begin next season (or maybe even pre-season)when you start conceding heavily and/or Mike Ashley starts shooting himself in the foot again- bring it on
